The Belted Galloway breed is smaller size cattle which
sometimes allows you to be buy as much as a whole steer for
what a half size steer of other larger breeds would be.
How much freezer space do you need?
Here's a good rule to follow:
1. Just a few steaks a roast and some ground? .... your refrigerator freezer will do
2. Buying a quarter to a half steer?........ a 5 cubic foot freezer will do
3. Buying a half to whole steer? ........a 7 - 10 cubic foot freezer will do
